Where Did the Tragedy Strike?

The stampede happened at Gate Number 3. This was the spot where fans expected the team to arrive for the victory celebration.

The injured are now getting medical care at Bowring Hospital. The police are working hard to clear the crowd from the area, according to the Deccan Herald.

Government and Political Reactions

Deputy Chief Minister Speaks Out

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar talked about the incident. He mentioned speaking to the police commissioner, as reported by ANI. However, the exact number of casualties and injuries is still unknown.

Shivakumar said, “I will go to the hospital later. I do not want to disturb the doctors who are taking care of the patients…We ask the people to stay calm.”

BJP Calls for Accountability

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants the state government to take full responsibility for the tragedy. Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra criticized the state government’s lack of preparation.
