Black Box Found at Air India Crash Site

The black box from the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad was found on Friday. It was recovered from the roof of the hostel where the plane crashed.

This device may help us understand what caused the crash. The crash resulted in at least 265 deaths.

The plane had 241 people on board. The crash also killed at least four medical students on the ground.

While the exact number of ground victims is unclear, a police inspector confirmed that 265 bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

So far, six bodies have been handed over to their families. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the final death toll will be released after all bodies have been identified. More on Scroll


Assam Government Issues Nighttime Shoot-at-Sight Orders

The Assam government, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has issued nighttime shoot-at-sight orders in Dhubri. This comes after five days of communal tensions following the discovery of animal remains near a Hindu temple.

The police have arrested 22 people in connection with the incident.

Chief Minister Sarma stated, “Whoever creates disturbance will be shot.” He also mentioned that the Rapid Action Force and the Central Reserve Police Force have been deployed in Dhubri. The chief minister claimed that the animal remains found near the temple were part of a cow’s head. More on Scroll


Israel Strikes Iran’s Nuclear Sites

Israel has launched strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. The goal was to slow down Iran’s nuclear program.

Tehran has promised to respond to the attack that killed the chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to state-run media.

Tel Aviv claims that Tehran is closer than ever to obtaining a nuclear weapon. They believe that such weapons in the hands of the Iranian regime pose a threat to Israel and the world.

Iran has long maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

The Israeli attack killed Iranian military chief Mohammed Bagheri and Hossein Salami, the chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IRGC is a key unit of the Iranian Armed Forces. More on Scroll


India Abstains from UN Gaza Ceasefire Resolution Vote

India was among 19 countries that abstained from voting on a United Nations General Assembly resolution. The resolution called for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The non-binding resolution passed with 149 votes in favor. Israel and the United States were among the 12 countries that voted against it.

The resolution demanded an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Israel’s war on Gaza. It also called for the unconditional release of remaining hostages held by the Palestinian militant group Hamas and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza.

The vote took place a day after the death toll in Gaza crossed 55,000. Read on.
