Incredible Survival: Two Plane Crashes, Two Survivors in Seat 11A

A Tale of Survival Against All Odds

Plane Crash Survivors

New Delhi: A Thai singer recently shared his amazing survival story. He lived through a deadly plane crash in 1998. The crash took 101 lives. Interestingly, he was seated in 11A. This is the same seat number as the sole survivor of the Air India tragedy.

The Mystery of Seat 11A

Ruangsak Loychusak, now 47, was on Thai Airways Flight TG261. The flight was going from Bangkok to Surat Thani. Sadly, the plane stalled and crashed into a swamp during landing. Out of 132 passengers and 14 crew members, 101 did not survive. Another 45 were injured.

Loychusak said, “The lone survivor of the plane crash in India was sitting in the same seat number as me, 11A.” He also expressed his sadness for those who lost loved ones in the tragedy.

Life After the Crash

Loychusak described his life after the crash as a “second life.” He faced trauma and a fear of flying. “I had difficulty flying for 10 years after the crash. I would struggle to breathe, even though the air was fine,” he shared.

He also avoided talking to anyone during flights. He would always look outside the window. This helped him feel safe. “If I saw dark clouds or a rainstorm, I would feel terrible, like I was in hell,” he added.

The Air India Survivor’s Story

Viswashkumar is the lone survivor of Air India Flight 171. He was also seated in 11A. He lost his brother in the crash, who was seated in 11J. Viswashkumar is a British citizen of Indian origin. He and his brother Ajaykumar were among 15 passengers from Bucharwada and Vanakbara villages on that flight.

The brothers had lived in the UK for over 15 years. They ran a garment business in London. They also managed a fishing business in Diu.
