IndiGo Flight Makes Safe Emergency Landing After Bomb Hoax

A False Alarm Leads to Emergency Landing

Bomb hoax on Kochi-Delhi IndiGo flight

An IndiGo flight from Muscat to Delhi, with a stop in Kochi, made an emergency landing in Nagpur on Tuesday. This was due to a bomb threat. The flight carried 157 passengers.

Thorough Check Shows No Danger

In Nagpur, a detailed scan showed the threat was a hoax. The flight had six crew members and 157 passengers on board.

Email Threat Causes Flight Diversion

Cochin International Airport got a threatening email at 6:30 AM. Staff read it around 9:30 AM. The pilot learned about the threat while flying. This caused the flight to land in Nagpur.

  • All passengers were checked carefully.
  • The flight left for Delhi again around 3 PM.

Who Sent the Email?

The email sender called himself Alex Paul Menon. He claimed there was a pipe bomb on the plane. He wanted revenge for Ajmal Kasab’s hanging. He also mentioned the arrests of Pallan Arun and Youtuber Savukku Shankar. The email talked about plans to blow up IGI Airport in Delhi.
