Fresh Investigation Sought by Disha Salian’s Father
Satish Salian approached the Bombay High Court, requesting a new investigation into the mysterious death of his daughter, Disha Salian, who died on June 8, 2020. She reportedly fell from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. The Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at that time.
Fast-Tracking SIT Probe into Disha Salian’s Death
Maharashtra’s junior home minister, Yogesh Kadam, informed the legislative assembly that the SIT probe into Disha Salian’s death would be expedited and “no one will be spared”. This statement was made in response to the demands of BJP and Shiv Sena MLAs to know when the SIT would conclude its investigation.
- The demand came a day after Disha’s father prepared a petition to be filed in Bombay HC, asking for a fresh probe into her death and “custodial interrogation” of Aaditya Thackeray in the case.
- Kadam stated that the SIT probe was ongoing and its report had not been submitted yet. He assured that once they receive directions from the HC, stern and appropriate action will be taken. He emphasized that the law is the same for all and that no one will be spared.
Opposition Demand for Fresh Probe
The issue was raised by BJP MLA Ameet Satam through a point of information and supported by Sena MLA Arjun Khotkar and Sena minister Shambhuraje Desai.
