NewJeans vs ADOR: Court Decision and Controversy

Court Denies NewJeans’ Contract Termination

In a recent turn of events, a South Korean court rejected NewJeans’ plea to end their contract with ADOR. The popular K-pop group, now known as NJZ, announced their departure from the label last year, citing mistreatment. ADOR responded by taking legal action and filing an injunction in January.

The court ruled that the members, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, were barred from engaging in independent activities, including making music or signing advertising deals.

NewJeans Members Meet Controversial ‘Fan’

As fans reacted to this decision, a new controversy erupted on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter). Reports emerged that some NewJeans members had met with a ‘fan’ named ‘Talytokki’, who was accused of spreading hate against BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT, all under HYBE.

  • A photo of Hanni and Danielle with ‘Talytokki’ outside the HYBE building circulated online.
  • Private messages allegedly exchanged between ‘Talytokki’ and the NewJeans members were shared by X users.

Furthermore, evidence suggested that ‘Talytokki’s’ Instagram videos were reposted by then-ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, and Danielle’s sister, Olivia Marsh, liked one of ‘Talytokki’s’ Instagram posts.

Hate Against BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT

Fans of the three groups accused NewJeans fans (Bunnies) of orchestrating hate campaigns targeting specific groups or members to uplift the five NewJeans members. ‘Talytokki’ was accused of spreading negative news about BTS SUGA’s incident, encouraging other fandoms to bash LE SSERAFIM’s singing, and claiming that ILLIT was a copy of NewJeans.
