HAL Reaches Rs 30,400 Crore Revenue Amidst Supply Chain Hurdles

Defence PSU Triumphs Over Challenges in 2024-25

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Defence PSU, announced a provisional and unaudited revenue of Rs 30,400 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25. This figure slightly surpasses the previous year’s revenue of Rs 30,381 crore.

Tackling Obstacles

  • Decreased Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) deliveries due to engine scarcity
  • Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) delivery timeline disrupted by an accident and subsequent grounding

Despite these setbacks, HAL sustained its revenue by expediting deliveries of other products and services.

Expanding Capacity and Order Book

  • Introduced additional production lines for LCA and HTT-40 trainer aircraft
  • Boosted aero engine manufacturing capacity at Koraput facility
  • Order book exceeds Rs 1.8-lakh-crore, up from the initial Rs 94,129 crore

New Contracts and Milestones

  • Acquired new manufacturing contracts worth over Rs 1-lakh-crore
  • Inked Repair and Overhaul (ROH) contracts valued at Rs 17,500 crore
  • Inked a significant contract for supplying 156 Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) “Prachand” worth Rs 62,777 crore
  • Became the first defence PSU to earn the esteemed ‘Maharatna’ status

Outlook for 2025-26

With supply chain issues resolving, new orders in hand, and increased production capacities, HAL is gearing up for a stronger physical and financial performance in 2025-26.
