Nidhi Tewari’s Career Path
Before taking the Civil Services Examination in 2013, Nidhi Tewari worked as the Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Tax) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. After joining the Ministry of External Affairs, she worked in the Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division. In 2022, she joined the PMO as the Under Secretary and was promoted to Deputy Secretary in 2023. At the PMO, Tewari worked in the ‘Foreign and Security’ section, focusing on foreign affairs, security, and atomic energy. Her expertise in foreign affairs and international relations helped her play a crucial role at the PMO, and she reported directly to Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor.
