CBI Files 11 Cases Against Defense Training Center Officials
Misuse of Army Personnel by Officials Alleged
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed 11 cases against officials at the Pay & Accounts Artillery/Army Aviation Centre in Nashik. This training center is managed by the Controller General of Defence Accounts. The officials are suspected of exploiting army personnel by requesting payments for unauthorized services or faster processing of valid claims.
Searches Carried Out Across Several Locations
- CBI officials carried out searches at various locations including Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Ahmedabad, Fatehabad, and Pulgaon (Nagpur).
- The CBI, along with officers from Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Army), Pune, conducted joint surprise inspections.
Evidence of Bribe Transactions Discovered
During the searches, the CBI reportedly found evidence of bribe-related transactions and communications in the accused officials’ chat messages. This evidence included:
- An instance where an accused officer shared his wife’s account details.
- A message displaying a screenshot of a bribe payment of Rs 5,000.
