Dispute Between Hindu and Muslim Communities
A disagreement arose between members of the Hindu and Muslim communities, leading to stone-throwing, according to The Hindu. The procession organizers had not obtained official permission from the local administration, despite informing them about it on April 7.
Organizer Asserts Permission Was Obtained
However, Ranjeet Khatik, one of the procession organizers, claimed to have evidence of the required permission. He alleged that stones were thrown when some boys chanted “Jai Shri Ram”, while the other group responded with “Allah hu Akbar”.

A first information report was registered against five identified men and about 20 unknown individuals based on a complaint from the Hindu community.
