Adani’s Haifa Port Safe After Iranian Missile Strikes

Port Operations Continue Smoothly Despite Recent Attacks

Adani's Haifa port

Jerusalem: The Haifa port in Israel, run by Indian billionaire Gautam Adani’s group, stayed safe during the recent Iranian missile attack. Cargo work went on without any problems.

What Happened During the Attacks?

Late on Saturday, Iran aimed missiles at Israel’s Haifa port and a close-by oil refinery. This was a response to Tel Aviv’s attack on Iranian targets earlier that week.

  • Small pieces from the missiles fell in the chemical area of the port.
  • Some missile parts also landed at the oil refinery.
  • No one got hurt.

Adani’s port was not hit by the strike. A small piece from an interceptor was found at the Kishan West (Haifa port), but no injuries were reported.

Port Work Goes On as Usual

Cargo work at the Adani-run port continued normally. A source said, “There are eight ships in the port now, and cargo work is normal.”

The Iranian missile attack did not harm the port or its work. The Adani group has not talked about this yet. Israeli government officials were also not available to talk right away.

Why Haifa Port Matters

Haifa port is a very important sea hub. It deals with over 30% of Israel’s imports. Adani Ports owns 70% of the port.

  • The missiles might have damaged a big oil refinery near the port.
  • Haifa port deals with less than 2% of what Adani Ports and SEZ handle.
  • It brings in about 5% of the money.
  • APSEZ handles a total of 10.57 million tonnes of cargo.

More Trouble in the Middle East

Israel attacked Iran early Friday, aiming at its nuclear, missile, and military buildings. Iran then launched strikes back at Israel. The two countries kept attacking each other for a third day on Sunday. This makes people worry about more trouble in the Middle East.

Iran said that Israel struck two oil refineries. This could mean a bigger attack on Iran’s energy industry, which is already heavily sanctioned. This could affect markets around the world. Some Iranian missiles got past Israeli defenses and hit buildings in the heart of the country.
