Congress Calls for Special Parliament Session on India-Pakistan Conflict
Congress Accuses Government of Misleading the Nation
The Congress party wants a special Parliament session. They need to talk about the recent four-day fight with Pakistan. The party says the government is not telling the truth.
Important Questions Need Answers
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge shared his worries on social media. He said that recent comments by General Anil Chauhan bring up important questions. These questions need answers.
Kharge said that a special Parliament session is needed to talk about these issues. He thinks it should happen right away.
Military Chief Talks About Mistakes
General Anil Chauhan recently talked about the fight. He said that the Indian Air Force lost some planes during Operation Sindoor. But he said it’s important to know why these losses happened.
Chauhan said that the military found and fixed their mistakes. This helped them to start operations again.
He also said that Pakistan’s claims of shooting down six Indian planes are wrong.
Congress Wants a Full Review
Kharge also asked for a full review of India’s defense readiness. He thinks a group of independent experts should do this review, like the Kargil Review Committee.
The Congress leader also talked about worries with US President Donald Trump’s claims. Trump said that the US helped make a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Kharge sees this as a direct challenge to the Simla Agreement.
What Happened in the Conflict
Things got worse between India and Pakistan on May 7. The Indian military did strikes, called Operation Sindoor. These strikes were against what they said were terrorist camps in Pakistan.
The strikes were because of a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This attack killed 26 people on April 22.
Retaliation and Ceasefire
The Pakistan Army fought back by attacking Indian villages. This killed at least 22 Indian people and seven soldiers.
On May 10, India and Pakistan agreed to stop fighting. This happened after a four-day fight. The news came after President Trump said on social media that both countries agreed to a ceasefire.
India said that the decision to stop fighting was made directly between the two countries. They said no other country helped them make this decision.
