Siyaljori Plant in Chandankiyari Block: A Tragic Incident

The Unfortunate Event

Ganesh Nayak, a contract worker at Vedanta ESL Steel Limited’s Siyaljori plant, met with a tragic fate on Sunday. He was discovered unconscious at the ductile pipe unit and later pronounced dead at the Bokaro district hospital.

Collapse During Work Hours

Nayak, a local from Dantu village, was employed by E2E Urja Solutions Private Limited, a business partner of Vedanta ESL. He fell unconscious while on duty around 7:30 am. The plant’s health center team quickly transported him to the hospital, but unfortunately, they couldn’t save him.

Probe and Compensation

Although the exact cause of death awaits a post-mortem report, the company management believes it to be due to natural causes. Bokaro factory inspector, Shivanand Laguri, has started an investigation into the incident. Nayak’s family, deeply distressed by the news, demanded justice and fair compensation.

Resolution Reached

With the help of Dhanbad MP Dulu Mahto, negotiations took place between the company, family members, and the police. Consequently, a settlement of Rs 25 lakh was agreed upon as compensation for the family’s loss.
