Six Escape Injury in Janata Market Fire
A fire erupted at a footwear store in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh on Saturday morning. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) were alerted at 11.17 am and quickly sent five fire tenders to the location.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, but the firefighting efforts led to traffic congestion in the area, causing inconvenience to commuters.
Six Injured After Jumping from Second Floor in Janata Market Fire
In a different incident, at least six people were injured when they jumped from the second floor of a house in Nangloi’s Janata Market area to escape a fire on February 17, 2025. The fire consumed domestic items on the first and second floors of a building in Y-655, Mobile Market, Janata Market, under the Jwala Puri jurisdiction.
- Three fire tenders were sent to the scene.
- Firefighters successfully controlled the blaze by 11 pm.
- Six residents trapped on the second floor had to jump to safety before the firefighters arrived.
The injured individuals have been identified as Pranjal (19), Preeti (40), Pankaj (40), Panav (18), Vaibhav (13), and Sweta (20). They were taken to Pushpanjali Hospital for medical attention.
