Indian Women’s Cricket Team Set for Australia Tour in 2023

Tour Dates and Match Formats

Get ready for an exciting cricket season as the Indian women’s cricket team takes on Australia in a challenging all-format tour from February 15 to March 9, 2023. The tour will feature three T20Is, three ODIs, and a one-off Test match.

T20I Series Venues and Dates

  • February 15: Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Sydney
  • February 19: Manuka Oval, Canberra
  • February 21: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

ODI Series Venues and Dates

  • February 24: Allan Border Field, Brisbane
  • February 27: Bellerive Oval, Hobart
  • March 1: CitiPower Centre, Melbourne

One-Off Test Match at WACA Ground

The tour will wrap up with a one-off Test match at the newly-redeveloped WACA Ground in Perth from March 6-9, played under day-night conditions.

MCG Unavailable Due to Renovations

Unfortunately, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is unavailable for this tour due to upcoming renovation works.

WACA Ground Redevelopment

The WACA Ground is currently undergoing a redevelopment project that will turn it into a 10,000-capacity boutique venue, with completion expected later this year. Australia last played a women’s Test at the WACA Ground in February 2024, resulting in an innings-and-284-run victory over South Africa.

ICC Women’s Future Tours Program

The new ICC Women’s Future Tours Program, released last November and running until 2029, will begin in the 2025-26 summer.

BCCI Moves Women’s Premier League to January

Due to the BCCI’s decision to move the Women’s Premier League (WPL) forward to January from 2026 onwards, Cricket Australia had to reschedule the series to February-March.
