IPL 2025: Fan Intrusion and KKR’s Triumph

IPL 2025 Faces Security Breach

The ongoing IPL 2025 has encountered a security breach once again. This time, a fan successfully evaded security to meet Rajasthan Royals’ captain, Riyan Parag, during their match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Guwahati.

Previous Security Lapse

In the initial match of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, a fan had earlier managed to evade security to meet Virat Kohli.

Fan Interrupts KKR vs RR Match

As Parag was about to begin a new over, the batsman moved away from the stumps, noticing a fan sprinting towards the pitch. The fan successfully reached Parag, touched his feet, and embraced him before being escorted away by the security personnel.

KKR Secures Victory Over RR by 8 Wickets

Rajasthan Royals made several modifications to their playing lineup. They included Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga in place of Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi on a slow pitch.

  • RR started strong with Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal aggressively batting against the KKR bowling attack.
  • However, the introduction of Moeen Ali and Varun Chakravarthy slowed down RR’s scoring rate and caused a series of wickets.
  • From 67/1, RR was reduced to 83/5, losing four wickets in four consecutive overs to Moeen Ali and Varun Chakaravarthy.
  • Moeen Ali finished with impressive figures of 2/23, while Varun Charavarthy rebounded with 2/17 (4) after conceding 43 runs in the first game against RCB.
  • Dhruv Jurel and Jofra Archer, batting at no.6 and no.9 respectively, ensured RR batted the full 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel’s patient 33 and Jofra Archer’s quickfire 16 not out off seven balls helped RR reach 151/9.

In response, KKR lost some early wickets, but the partnership between Quinton de Kock and Ankish Raghuvanshi ensured a smooth run chase. KKR reached the target with plenty of time left in the game.
