Legal Notice Issued to Mumbai Indians’ Corbin Bosch by PCB
Breach of PSL Contract Alleged
Corbin Bosch, a South African all-rounder playing for Mumbai Indians, has received a legal notice from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The 30-year-old is accused of violating a contract with the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PSL Contract and IPL Availability
Bosch was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category for the upcoming PSL season, which begins in April. However, he withdrew from the PSL to become available for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
PCB’s Statement and Consequences
The PCB released a statement saying that the legal notice was sent to Bosch through his agent, asking him to explain his actions. The PCB also detailed the consequences of his departure from the league and anticipates his response within the specified time frame. The PCB will not comment further on the matter.
Corbin Bosch Joins MI as Lizaad Williams’ Replacement
Previously, Bosch was signed by Mumbai Indians as a replacement for injured Lizaad Williams, who will miss the 18th IPL edition.
Bosch’s IPL and SA20 Background
Although Bosch has not yet made his IPL debut, he was part of the Rajasthan Royals setup as a reserve player. He also played for MI Cape Town, which won the SA20 earlier this year. Bosch took 11 wickets in seven SA20 innings and is expected to join forces with teammate Ryan Rickelton at Mumbai Indians.
Resolving the Dispute
With a legal notice served, it is now up to the MI management, the BCCI, and the IPL governing council to resolve the issue for Bosch.
Overlapping IPL 2025 and PSL 2025 Schedules
It is worth noting that the dates for IPL 2025 and PSL 2025 are set to overlap. The IPL 2025 will start on March 22 and end on May 25, while the PSL 2025 will begin on April 11, with the final scheduled for May 25.
