Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar requests urgent repair of key highways from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

Ajit Pawar Reaches Out to Nitin Gadkari

Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has contacted Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. He has requested immediate repairs for the Mumbai-Nashik and Pune-Nashik national highways.

Dangerous Roads on Mumbai-Nashik Route

Pawar highlighted the risky conditions on the Mumbai-Nashik highway. He specifically pointed out the Kasara Ghat and Igatpuri areas. Poor road quality, bad diversions, and unfinished bridge work are endangering commuters.

No Progress Despite Toll Fees

Despite regular toll collection, Pawar noted that there has been no visible improvement in the road’s quality or safety. He also mentioned that serious accidents have been reported on this route.

Potholes and Bad Road Conditions

Both highways are filled with large potholes and are in very poor condition. The bad state of these roads has led to more accidents, posing a serious threat to commuters.

Significance of Pune-Nashik Highway

The Pune-Nashik highway is vital for industrial, commercial, and passenger traffic. However, the road is currently filled with deep potholes at several locations. This causes significant damage to vehicles and leads to more accidents.

Effects on Citizens

Citizens are facing several problems due to the poor road conditions, including:

  • Wasting time
  • Losing fuel
  • Experiencing stress

Call for Inspection and Repairs

Pawar requested a detailed inspection of both highways. He also asked for immediate repair orders to be issued.
