Angkrish Raghuvanshi, a 20-year-old right-hand top-order batter, is making waves in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Angkrish idolizes Shubman Gill and has a deep love for the game.
In a recent interview with ESPNcricinfo, Angkrish shared his passion for cricket: “I’m in love with the game. I will do whatever it takes to improve, work hard, and try to win games for my team. That’s what I love doing. That’s what I go to sleep wanting to do and what I wake up wanting to do.”
A Family of Athletes
Angkrish’s strong passion for sports can be attributed to his family. His father, Avneesh Raghuvanshi, is a former tennis player, and his mother, Malika Raghuvanshi, represented the country in basketball.
Angkrish told the media, “When I was a kid, both my mom and dad made me play different sports. My dad made me play tennis with him. My mom made me play basketball with her. So, I think it has been inculcated into me, the habit of playing sports.”
Born in Delhi and Raised in Mumbai
Angkrish Raghuvanshi was born in 2004 in New Delhi and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in cricket. He made his debut in 2024 with the Kolkata Knight Riders, scoring 54 runs from 27 balls in his first match against Delhi Capitals.
