Mumbai Indians Secure Top Spot

Mumbai Indians have jumped from third to first in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 standings. This achievement follows their sixth straight win of the season, beating Rajasthan Royals by 100 runs at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur.

Points Table Update

With 14 points from 11 games, Mumbai Indians now lead the pack. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also have 14 points but have played one game less. Punjab Kings have slipped to third place, while Rajasthan Royals are the second team to be eliminated from the playoffs race, along with Chennai Super Kings.

Gujarat Titans have a chance to move up to second in the table if they can win against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, May 2.

Orange Cap: Suryakumar Yadav Takes the Lead

Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav currently tops the orange cap race with 475 runs from 11 games. He also set a new record by scoring 25 or more runs in 11 consecutive innings in the IPL.

  • Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans has scored 456 runs from 9 games.
  • Virat Kohli has dropped to third in the charts.
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals remains in 4th place.

Purple Cap: Trent Boult Moves Up

Josh Hazlewood of Royal Challengers Bangalore continues to lead the purple cap race with 18 wickets from 10 games. Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans, who has taken 17 wickets from 9 games, aims to surpass Hazlewood in their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 2.

  • Trent Boult of Mumbai Indians moved to third place after taking 3 wickets against Rajasthan Royals.
  • Three of the top four spots are held by overseas bowlers.
  • The Pandya brothers, Krunal and Hardik, are in the top 10.

Note: Players with the same number of wickets are ranked by their economy rate. Two other bowlers, SRH’s Harshal Patel and PBKS’ Yuzvendra Chahal, have taken 13 wickets each and occupy 11th and 12th spots.
