Mumbai Indians Celebrate 150th IPL Win
Hardik Pandya’s Squad Beats Lucknow Super Giants by 54 Runs
Mumbai Indians (MI) reached a significant milestone in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by winning their 150th match. Under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, MI triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 54 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. This win boosted MI to second place with 12 points from 10 games.
Breaking the LSG Jinx
This was MI’s first league stage victory against LSG in seven attempts. Their only prior success against LSG was in the IPL 2023 Eliminator.
Impressive Batting Performance by Mumbai Indians
After being put to bat first, MI took advantage of the conditions to post an impressive total of 215/7 in 20 overs. Ryan Rickelton (58) and Suryakumar Yadav (54) both hit half-centuries, while debutant Corbin Bosch added 20 runs. Mayank Yadav (2/40) and Avesh Khan (2/42) were LSG’s top bowlers.
Bumrah and Boult Dominate with Bowling Skills
In reply, LSG never seemed likely to challenge the total as Jasprit Bumrah (4/22) and Trent Boult (3/20) combined for seven wickets, derailing LSG’s chase. Will Jacks also took two wickets, including that of Nicholas Pooran. Ayush Badoni was LSG’s highest scorer with 35 runs.
