19-Year-Old Jeeshan Shaikh Faces Murder Charges
Mumbai police have arrested a 19-year-old boy. He is accused of poisoning his 16-year-old friend. The boy, Jeeshan Shaikh, allegedly tried to make the death look like an accident.
Motive Behind the Crime
Jeeshan believed his friend, Shaheen Shaikh, was taking advantage of him. He thought Shaheen was using his money. Additionally, Jeeshan felt that Shaheen preferred other friends over him.
The Incident on June 29
On June 29, Shaheen was found dead at Jeeshan’s home in Govandi. Jeeshan was also sick. He claimed they both drank an energy drink that made them ill.
Police Suspicions Arise
Initially, police thought it was an accident. However, they became suspicious after the autopsy report showed signs of poison. This led them to believe it was not an accident.
Jeeshan’s Alleged Plan
Jeeshan reportedly planned the murder during Eid. He was in his native village in Uttar Pradesh at the time. He is accused of bringing pesticide and mixing it into the energy drink.
Attempt to Avoid Suspicion
- Jeeshan works as a painter.
- He drank some of the poisoned drink too.
- He did this to avoid looking guilty.
Police Investigation and Confession
After Jeeshan left the hospital, police questioned him. He admitted to the murder. He said he felt used by Shaheen. He was upset that Shaheen liked other friends more.
