NEET PG 2025 Exam Postponed: Latest Updates and New Dates
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has delayed the NEET PG 2025 exam. It was originally scheduled for June 15.
Official Notice and New Plans
NBEMS has announced that the NEET PG 2025 exam will now take place in a single shift. To accommodate this, they are adding more test centers nationwide. The new exam dates will be shared soon.
Fairness and Transparency
The official notice stated, “We direct the respondents to make necessary arrangements for holding the NEET-PG 2025 examination in one shift. This ensures complete transparency and secure centers are identified and commissioned.”
NEET-PG Single Shift Debate
A petition highlighted potential unfairness in a two-shift format. On May 30, the Supreme Court ruled that the exam should be conducted in a single shift.
Supreme Court’s Ruling
The Supreme Court bench, including Justices Vikram Nath, Sanjay Kumar, and NK Anjaria, noted that multiple sessions could lead to varying difficulty levels. This might cause unfairness among candidates. For a crucial national exam, uniform standards are essential.
The Court’s order followed arguments that NEET-PG has traditionally been a single-shift, single-day exam. This format ensures all candidates face the same conditions.
The bench also mentioned that NBEMS could request an extension if they couldn’t arrange everything by the original exam date, June 15.
NEET PG 2025 Exam New Dates
The original exam date was June 15. NBEMS has postponed it to set up more test centers and improve infrastructure. The new dates will be announced shortly.
