Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently visited Patna to inspect the progress of a two-lane link road being built over the Mandiri drain. He started near Bihar College of Arts, moved on to Bans Ghat Kali Temple, and finished at the Income Tax roundabout.

Abhay Kumar Singh, secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department (UDHD), briefed the CM about the project’s progress and current status.

  • The road will stretch from Nehru Path to JP Ganga Path.
  • A section between Bans Ghat on Danapur-Bankipur road and JP Ganga Path will be elevated.

Nitish directed the officials to complete the construction as planned and make sure the boundary wall of Bihar College of Arts remains unharmed.

Residents’ Response

The CM’s visit to the Mandiri area sparked excitement among the residents who thanked him for the ongoing development work. Nitish spoke with the locals, explaining that the completed road would make travel easier, reduce traffic, save time, and promote further development in the area.

Project Features

According to a statement from the chief minister’s office, a 1,289-m box drain along with a two-lane link road is being constructed from the Income Tax roundabout on Nehru Path to Bans Ghat on Danapur-Bankipur road. The project includes:

  • A service road
  • A drain
  • A utility duct
  • Two ramps
  • Three desilting chambers for cleaning
  • Four sluice gates for drainage management and control
  • Street lighting and landscaping for beautification
