Piyush Chawla, a star spinner from India, has retired from all cricket formats. He shared this big news on Instagram, thanking everyone for the amazing journey.

A Heartfelt Goodbye to Cricket

Chawla wrote, “After over 20 years on the field, it’s time to say goodbye to the game I love. I’m lucky to have played for India at the highest level. I was part of the teams that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. These memories will stay with me forever.”

He showed gratitude to the IPL teams that believed in him:

  • Punjab Kings
  • Kolkata Knight Riders
  • Chennai Super Kings
  • Mumbai Indians

Looking Back on an Amazing Career

Chawla shared, “The Indian Premier League has been a huge part of my career. I’ll always treasure the moments I played in it. I want to give a special thanks to my late father. His belief in me guided my path. Without him, this journey wouldn’t have been possible.”

He added, “Today is emotional as I retire from international and domestic cricket. Though I’m leaving the crease, cricket will always be in my heart. I look forward to a new journey, carrying the spirit and lessons of this beautiful game.”

Chawla started his competitive cricket career at just 15. He played for India U19 and Uttar Pradesh U22. He made his first-class debut at 17.
