Rejecting Mediation

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri spoke clearly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi refused third-party mediation. India has never accepted it. India will never accept it. This applies to issues like the recent counterterrorism action in Pakistan. The action was part of Operation Sindoor.

Misri said, “PM Modi emphasized that India never accepted mediation. It does not accept it now. Nor will it ever do that. On this issue, there is full political agreement.”

Direct Talks with Pakistan

Misri also highlighted an important point. PM Modi made it clear to President Trump. During the entire event, one thing was sure. No talks about India-US trade deals took place. Also, no mediation by the US between India and Pakistan was discussed.

The stop to military action came from direct talks. It happened between India and Pakistan. They used existing army channels. Pakistan asked for this stop.

Phone Call with Trump

Even though Trump left the G7 Summit early, PM Modi had a phone call with him. Trump asked for this call. They mostly talked about India’s anti-terror action. This action was under Operation Sindoor. It targeted terror bases in Pakistan.

During the call, PM Modi told Trump something important. “India now sees terrorism not as proxy war but as actual war.” Trump shared his condolences. He was saddened by the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. This attack killed 26 people.

India’s Clear Position

Trump has made claims before. He said he mediated between India and Pakistan. He also said he “brokered” a ceasefire. This was to prevent nuclear escalation. But PM Modi’s latest comments make India’s position clear. India does not accept mediation.

Key Points to Remember

  • India has always refused third-party mediation.
  • PM Modi and Trump talked about Operation Sindoor.
  • India sees terrorism as actual war, not proxy war.
  • Direct talks between India and Pakistan stopped the military action.
