Day 1: Exciting Moments Unfold

The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 auction kicked off in Mumbai. Day 1 brought some thrilling moments.

Top Picks Steal the Show

Gujarat Giants made a big move. They bought Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui for a huge Rs. 2.23 crore. Shadloui was the first player up for auction.

Shadloui played a key role in Haryana Stealers’ first PKL title win in Season 11. He scored an impressive 139 points. His skills in attack and defense were outstanding. He scored 57 raid points and 82 tackle points in 24 matches.

Bengaluru Bulls and Patna Pirates showed strong interest in Shadloui. But Gujarat Giants secured him.

Other Notable Sales

  • Bengal Warriorz bought Devank Dalal for Rs. 2.205 crore. He was the last player in the A category.
  • Patna Pirates used the FBM card to retain Ankit Jaglan. They kept him for Rs. 1.573 crore for one season.
  • All-rounder Pawan Sehrawat joined Tamil Thalaivas for 59.5 lakhs.
  • Defender Fazal Atrachali was picked up by Dabang Delhi for 30 lakhs.

Understanding the FBM Card

The FBM (Final Bid Match) card is crucial in the auction. Teams use it to retain a player for one or two seasons. This helps in long-term team building and keeps the team stable.

Previously, the FBM rule allowed teams to retain a player for only one season. The new rule gives teams more flexibility.
