Seasoned Executive Succeeds Shiva Krishnamurthy

MUMBAI: Rajneet Kohli, former CEO of Britannia, is set to join Hindustan Unilever (HUL) as executive director of its foods division. He will take over from Shiva Krishnamurthy, who is leaving HUL for an external opportunity.

Kohli’s Career and Expertise

  • Kohli served as CEO and executive director of Britannia for nearly three years.
  • He contributed to strengthening Britannia’s position in the competitive food and bakery segment.
  • With over two decades of experience, Kohli has worked in the consumer goods and retail sectors.
  • Prior to Britannia, he held senior roles at Jubilant Foodworks, The Coca-Cola Company, and Asian Paints.

HUL’s Foods Division and Growth Strategy

Kohli joins HUL as the company concentrates on high-growth areas to gain market share and boost consumption. The foods division is HUL’s second-largest unit, following home care.

  • The foods division includes popular brands like Knorr, Brooke Bond, and Kissan.
  • It recorded revenues of over Rs 3,000 crore in the December quarter.
  • HUL is banking on this segment to cater to consumers’ changing preferences and increasing demand for more from brands.

Rohit Jawa’s Trust in Kohli’s Leadership

Rohit Jawa, CEO and MD at HUL, voiced his confidence in Kohli’s ability to lead the foods division towards further growth and transformation.

Jawa stated, “Foods is a significant business unit for HUL with strong growth potential. Rajneet has extensive experience in managing large foods and beverages businesses and driving high performance. I am confident that he will lead the foods business to the next phase of growth and transformation.”

Kohli’s Appointment Begins on April 7

Rajneet Kohli’s appointment as executive director of HUL’s foods division will become effective on April 7.
