Two Arrested for Petrol Pump Manager’s Murder
Police in Hazaribag arrested two men. They are accused of killing a petrol pump manager. The suspects also stole Rs 14 lakh. The victim, Shankar Ravidas, was 32 years old. The crime took place on April 15.
Acting on a tip, police stopped two suspicious youths on a motorcycle. They found the murder weapon with the suspects. The arrested men are:
- Shiv Kumar, also known as Shiva, aged 23, from Shekha village
- Rahul Kumar, also known as Rocky or Deepak Kumar, aged 26, from Nagwa Mohalla in Chatra town
Police seized a country-made pistol with three bullets from Rahul.
Chain Snatcher Apprehended in Dhanbad
In Dhanbad, a woman tried to snatch a gold chain during a religious procession. Locals caught her and handed her over to the police.
Urmila Devi, the victim, said, “She was standing beside me. Her behavior seemed suspicious. When she pushed me, I thought it was due to the crowd. But then I felt a sharp pull on my chain and realized what was happening.”
R K Thakur, the officer-in-charge of the Dhanbad police station, confirmed the incident.
Green Initiative for a Better Future
Healthy Environment, Secure Future
In Ranchi, the Jharkhand Engineering Services Association (JESA) launched a 10-day environmental campaign. This campaign leads up to World Environment Day on June 5. The campaign is called ‘Healthy Environment, Secure Future’.
The initiative focuses on:
- Raising environmental awareness
- Organizing large-scale tree plantation drives
- Giving out cloth bags to reduce single-use plastics
These efforts aim to restore ecological balance and promote sustainable alternatives. Rahul Kumar, the JESA general secretary, shared this information.
