Shashi Tharoor warns Pakistan

Shashi Tharoor, a Congress MP, recently led a group of representatives from various Indian political parties to the US. He shared India’s firm actions against terrorism. Tharoor spoke to young professionals and individuals, delivering a clear message: India stands united against terrorism.

India’s Response to the Pahalgam Terror Attack

Tharoor discussed India’s response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He stated, “We had no choice but to respond. We sought understanding and solidarity. Everywhere we went, we received both. We will continue to meet others to share our message.”

India is focused on growth and development. However, the country will not tolerate terrorism that crosses its borders. Tharoor warned Pakistan that there will be consequences for such actions.

India’s Focus on Growth and Development

Tharoor emphasized, “We want to focus on growth and development. Our goal is to lift people out of poverty. We dream of a developed India. But when terror strikes, we must respond. We will not allow people to cross the border and harm our citizens. There will be consequences for such actions.”

A Clear Warning to Pakistan

Tharoor issued a clear warning to Pakistan. He said, “If Pakistan leaves us alone, we will leave them alone. But if they instigate or direct terror attacks, we will respond strongly. We are not here to destroy countries or the world. We are here to say: do not take our patience for granted.”

China’s Role in the Region

Tharoor acknowledged China’s significant influence in Pakistan. He said, “We know that a large portion of Pakistan’s military equipment comes from China. China is a factor we cannot ignore in our dealings with Pakistan.”

India is aware of the challenges in its region. The country will maintain open communication channels, even with adversaries. Tharoor said, “We have no illusions about the challenges. We choose to keep open lines of communication. We focus on development, growth, and trade. Our trade with China is still at high levels. We are not adopting a posture of hostility, but we are aware of the situation around us.”
