Tata Chairman’s Commitment After Air India Tragedy
Doing What Is Right
NEW DELHI: Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran made a heartfelt promise. He said the group will always do what is right, even in tough times. This comes after a terrible plane crash in India.
Built on Trust and Care
Chandrasekaran shared a message with Tata employees. He said the Tata group was built on trust and care. He called it a difficult moment but promised not to retreat from their responsibilities.
“It is a difficult moment, but we will not retreat from our responsibilities. We will do what is right. We will carry this loss. We will not forget.”
A Tragic Loss
This message came after a London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed. The crash happened shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport. It killed 241 of the 242 people on board.
Shock and Mourning
Chandrasekaran started his message by grieving the loss of passengers. He said the company is in shock and mourning.
“To lose a single person we know is a tragedy. But for so many deaths to occur at once is incomprehensible.”
One of the Darkest Days
He called it “one of the darkest days in Tata Group’s history.” His thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who died and were injured in the crash.
“We are here for them.”
Passenger Safety First
Tata Sons, which took over Air India in 2022, said passenger safety has always been their top priority.
“There was no compromising on it,” Chandrasekaran affirmed.
Full Cooperation and Transparency
He assured staff and the public that investigative teams from the UK and the US have their full cooperation. These teams are now in Ahmedabad.
“Once we have verified facts, we will be transparent. We will communicate how this tragedy took place.”
“They have our full cooperation. We will be completely transparent about the findings. We owe it to the families and loved ones, to our pilots and crew, and to you.”
Addressing Speculation
Chandrasekaran acknowledged the growing speculation around the crash. He urged the public to be patient.
He said only trained investigators can explain how this routine flight ended in tragedy. This will happen once their probe is complete.
Support and Unity
The chairman added that none of this matters to the people who suffered devastating losses.
“At this time, we can only assure them of our full support. We will pull together as a Group and find ways to help them.”
