Patna: Big News in Ongoing Case

Two surrender in Patna road firing case

Two more people turned themselves in on Friday. Piyush Verma (known as Shibu) and Rohit (known as Altar) went to the Patna civil court. Now, four people have been arrested for the Boring Canal Road firing. This includes a minor who was arrested earlier.

What Happened

The incident happened on May 24. It was recorded on video. Seven people were involved. The video went viral, and a case was registered at the Sri Krishna Puri police station. The police found two cars used in the crime. But the main SUV is still missing.

Police Update

City SP (central), Sweety Sahrawat, shared an update:

  • Four people have been arrested.
  • The minor went to a remand home. The others went to jail.
  • The last two surrendered because of police pressure.
  • They will be questioned more to find out how many weapons were used.

None of the arrested people had a criminal record before. Shibu is an engineering student in Rajasthan. Rohit is studying hotel management in Punjab. The engineering student fired from inside the car. The other one stepped out to scare people.

How the Fight Started

An unnumbered black SUV hit a car. After an argument, Rohit left but came back with others. Shots were fired from the SUV on Lohia Path Chakra. Then, the suspects ran away. Interestingly, ADG (law and order) Pankaj Darad was passing by. He chased the SUV in his official car. His bodyguard shot back.

Investigation Continues

Sachivalaya SDPO-2 Saket Kumar shared more:

  • One more suspect, Shanu Kumar, is still free.
  • Police are searching for him.
  • They think two or three more people helped the suspects. They are trying to find them.
