The US Consulate in Mumbai received a bomb threat. The Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) searched the building. They found no bomb.

The night security officer at the US Consulate took the call. The BKC police and BDDS quickly responded. The caller had warned of a blast at the consulate. After a thorough search, the police declared it a hoax.

Who Made the Call

The call came from the consulate’s office landline. It was linked to a young man, aged between 23 and 25. His visa application was recently rejected. The police have filed charges against him for mischief and criminal intimidation. No arrest had been made as of Sunday night.
