Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially parted ways. The Mumbai family court granted their divorce on March 20, following rumors of marital trouble. The couple attended the Bandra Family Court for their divorce hearing, with the Bombay High Court expediting the proceedings due to Chahal’s commitments with Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.

Divorce Proceedings and Alimony

Initial rumors suggested that Dhanashree demanded an alimony of INR 60 crores from Yuzvendra Chahal. However, Dhanashree denied these claims and issued a statement against them. According to reports, Yuzvendra paid Dhanashree INR 4.35 crore as alimony for their divorce. The Bombay High Court ordered the Family Court in Bombay to hear Yuzi and Dhanashree’s divorce case on March 20, waiving the mandatory six-month cooling-off period.

After the divorce, Yuzvendra Chahal was spotted leaving the court without his jacket. His black T-shirt, with the words “be your own sugar daddy” written on it, quickly went viral on the internet. Social media users commented on the cryptic message on his T-shirt.
